A mural dedicated to former Penn State and Steelers running back Franco Harris was unveiled at the Penn State Sports Museum on Sunday.

The mural is made up of nearly 2,000 different pictures of Harris that were submitted by friends, family and fans.

Harris passed away last December, at the age of 72.

He is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame, and his number 32 is one of three numbers that have been retired by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Harris’s wife was in attendance for the unveiling, among other notable Penn State alumni and figures.

She talked to the crowd before the unveiling about what type of person her husband was, and how much Penn State meant to him and their family.

“Anyone who has ever met Franco, you know he was an experience, he wasn’t just someone you met. He’s just an inspiration and the love that man had for this university, for all of you, I’m sure you all felt it and that’s why you’ll see these pictures,” said Dana Dokmanovich.
