Gwen Jones has made a big impact thanks to her unforgettable role in the popular Netflix series “Wednesday.” Though she is still relatively new to the acting world, her talent, compelling charisma and outstanding performance in the ever-evolving entertainment industry enthrals the audience. Let’s get to know more about her in this article.
Who Is Gwen Jones?
Gwen Jones is an actress from the United States of America. She was born on January 1, 1990. There is no information about her education. The public’s access to information about Jones’ family is restricted due to her desire for privacy. She is presently residing in London, according to her Instagram, and based on her photos, she proudly displays a birthmark on her neck and chest.
Gwen Jones In Popular Netflix Series, Wednesday
The Netflix series Wednesday is the only known film in which Jones appears. The television series “Wednesday” revolves around the supernatural, comedic, horror, and mystery of Wednesday Addams. As she sets out to solve a murder mystery at her new school, Wednesday Addams is the main character of the narrative.
The cast includes Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Naomi J. Ogawa, Christina Ricci and Moosa Mostafa.
Notably, Tim Burton, who also serves as an executive producer, directs four of the eight episodes.
In the series, Wednesday, Gwen Jones portrays Morticia Addams at a younger age. In episode five, there are flashbacks to Morticia and Gomez’s time at Nevermore Academy, and we learn how they become involved in Garrett Gates’ murder. Gwen’s first-ever creditable role is actually as Young Morticia.
Just so you know, there have been requests for Young Morticia and Young Gomez to have their own series that follows the beginning of their romance. If that happens, then get used to seeing these two on TV.
Wednesday actually has two sets of Addams parents: in one episode in particular, viewers see the younger Gomez and Morticia for the first time, when they were just a young couple in love at Nevermore, and discover more about the history of how this enigmatic and eerie dynasty first came into being through a series of flashbacks.
About Gwen Jones’ Role In The Netflix Series
Wednesday’s fifth episode features a flashback to the 1990s, when the majority of the students were having a great time on prom night. Garrett Gates (Lewis Hayes), a student at Nevermore Academy, developed an obsession with Morticia (Gwen Jones) months before the year’s biggest event and wouldn’t leave her alone.
Then, in a fit of jealousy, he attempted to harm Gomez (Lucius Hoyos), which resulted in a swordfight between them on the roof. Although it has been believed that Garrett fell after Gomez stabbed him, it is eventually discovered that Morticia killed Garrett because she was afraid for both her and Gomez’s lives.
The pair does an excellent job of depicting the youthful passion and undying love that teenage Morticia and Gomez had for one another, which still shows in the adult portrayals by Zeta-Jones and Guzmán.
Given that Wednesday season 1 has already revealed a number of other characters, including Larissa Weems and Noble Walker, who may appear in a spinoff starring Morticia and Gomez, the casting of Gwen Jones and Lucius Hoyos is already ideal for a longer look at the young characters. But if a young Morticia and Gomez spinoff from The Addams Family happens after Wednesday, Jones and Hoyos’ excellent casting should serve as a model for future episodes.
